brewing notes:
09/04/2016 - was super excited to brew up this beer because it was my first time using brewing salts to adjust the water. i've downloaded and have been using the bru'n water spreadsheet and it is really informative. the brew day went well. hit numbers but also went over and above the target original gravity so i might have to start increasing the efficiency up to about 80 if this keeps going! brewing salts plus grainfather is a damn efficient way to brew. this beer was a remake of the homeslice ipa, but since it was brewed over easter it was given a funny new name, thanks to my friend yvanna.
tasting notes:
03/05/2016 - i couldn't wait to taste test this guy, and even though it's only been in the keg for a bit over a week and a half, i gave it a test. it's still young but is showing REALLY nice fruity signs. the hoppiness is much more pronounced, and 'lighter' (for want of a better word). it is a much cleaner and less astringent bitterness as well, which is very exciting! for such a young beer, and for my first foray into water additions, i'm very hopeful about my brewing into the future. very impressed. i'm really looking forward to trying it again in coming weeks once it's hit the 3-4 week mark. pictures to come.
